I agree with your observation. The reporter( from KCRA ) kept asking me questions regarding how bad things are...to the point of telling me that these gardens are usually built as a response to blight. I responded that we built it because of our efforts to make the neighborhood friendlier...more welcoming. Instead they quoted the one negative thing I said regarding home values going down.
She wanted that to offset the nice aspect of the show, which was the kids getting involved with the planting, and hope for the future. So I'll accept that. The garden is a good thing for our neighborhood to have...hopefully we'll have more interest and can expand next season.
