Letters Webmaster An Open Letter!
Please do not hesitate to forward this letter on.

I am excited as ever to be a part of this community and want to contribute/share my talents with my neighbors. Currently my work hours do not allow me to easily attend the Association's meeting, however, I can easily be reached by email(preferred) , phone(emergencies/time sensitive), and in person (late evenings and weekends) if needed.

I took some time since the BBQ, June 12, to update our website with the most current version of the Joomla, the software that makes it all run. I am quite happy to try to meet, email, or phone any person or group interested in learning this system. My hope is that we can start utilizing the website and software to its full potential.

Since the Association's site is hosted by me I see the potential contacts being missed and would like to do more to get them interested in joining the Association.

I know that both of you, David and Ron, have ideas on how to make this community grow together and I am quite interested in helping that vision materialize.

Please explore our site and let me know what you like, don't like, or what you would like to see on it.

What I know can do:

I can create generic email address for officers who would not like their personal emails on the site. They can be forwarders, it just relays to their existing email, or a complete email address available via Outlook/Thunderbird or webmail.

Post content, convert articles(pdf, word, etc.), or clean up articles for anyone not comfortable with using our site.

Maintain a contact list for the neighborhood.

Why I think we should use our site instead of email for most/some of what currently just gets emailed.

It becomes available to others to read that are not on the email list and allows other a means of printing articles out for distribution.

This by all means is not the limit to what I or we can do, but was a way for me to get the ball rolling.

Sincerely your webmaster,

Richard Gentry
